“The marine industry inherently has some very unique and challenging risks,” said Mike Perrotti, chief marine underwriting officer at AXA XL Americas. “That’s why our clients value having underwriting resources as experienced as Brett, Ken, Shawn and Allison. Your promotions are well deserved. Over the past few years, all have played an influential role in building our liability and inland shipping capabilities, resulting in profitable books. We look forward to this momentum continuing in 2023.”
Mueller succeeds Perrotti, who was promoted to head of the US Navy team in August. Mueller will be based in Atlanta and will be responsible for AXA XL’s inland shipping business, which includes products for construction, trucking, logistics and warehousing risks, among others.
Musser previously served as the US Central Zone’s naval commander. In his new role, he will be responsible for AXA XL’s marine liability insurance business across the Americas. Musser joined AXA XL in 2020 from CNA. He lives in Chicago.

Langenegger previously served as Inland Marine Manager for South Central and is now expanding his role to include the entire US Central Zone for inland navies. Based in Dallas, he will be a key resource for agents and clients across the region, including Chicago and the Great Lakes region.
Jolls previously served as a senior underwriter. In her new position, she will assume a more strategic underwriting management role for AXA XL’s marine liability book in the United States. Jolls began her career in marine insurance as an insurer for pleasure vessels before expanding into commercial shipping and concentrating on hull and liability.
The promotions are the latest in a series of important appointments at AXA XL. Last week the company announced the appointment of John Liantonio as Head of Mid-Market Private Equity. In February, the company strengthened its fine art team with several important appointments.
